On March 9-10, 2026, nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, paramedics, and scientists from around the world gathered at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for the Beatrice Nicoletti & CHOP Resuscitation Science Center Conference a conference rooted in purpose, partnership, and an unwavering commitment to saving children’s lives.

Made possible through the generosity and enduring support of the Nicoletti family, the conference reflected a shared belief that advancing pediatric resuscitation science translates directly into more children surviving, and thriving, after cardiac arrest.

“This conference is a powerful reminder that when clinicians and scientists come together, the impact reaches far beyond these walls.”

Turning Generosity into Lifesaving Impact

Over two days at CHOP’s HUB for Clinical Collaboration, nurses, physicians, paramedics, and scientists explored how cutting‑edge science can be transformed into real‑world care at a child’s bedside. Sessions addressed every phase of resuscitation from early recognition and prevention to high‑quality CPR, to recovery after cardiac arrest.

Bridging Science and the Human Experience

Scientific sessions showcased breakthroughs in physiology‑directed CPR, ventilation strategies, neuroprognostication, and emerging technologies such as machine learning. Rapid‑fire research presentations highlighted innovation across international and multidisciplinary teams. Yet the conference never lost sight of the reason behind the research. A powerful patient story opened the meeting, grounding the science in lived experience and reminding attendees of the families behind every statistic.

“Behind every study, every protocol, every improvement in care is a child and a family whose lives are forever changed.”

Investing in Teams, Systems, and the Future

A hallmark of the conference was its emphasis on teamwork and leadership. Dedicated sessions highlighted nursing leadership, prehospital care, community outreach, simulation, and quality improvement recognizing that lifesaving care depends on strong systems, not just individual expertise.

By supporting education, collaboration, and innovation across disciplines, donors help ensure that advances in resuscitation science are implemented reliably, equitably, and sustainably.

A Legacy That Continues to Save Lives

The conference proudly honored the Nicoletti family for their ongoing partnership and generosity. Their commitment has created a space where ideas are shared, evidence is advanced, and clinicians are empowered to improve outcomes for children at their most vulnerable moments.

The closing session, Resuscitation of the Future, looked ahead envisioning how continued investment in science, education, and collaboration can further reduce pediatric cardiac arrest mortality and improve long‑term outcomes.

With Gratitude

The 2026 Beatrice Nicoletti & CHOP Resuscitation Science Center Conference stands as a testament to what philanthropy makes possible. Through partnership, shared purpose, and generosity, donors help transform discovery into action—and action into lives saved.

On behalf of the children, families, and care teams impacted by this work: thank you.
